Polar Bears Info

pb usfws Polar Bears InfoThey are cute, cuddly and utterly vulnerable. Polar bears grab the admiration and recognition of individuals the world over for their fluffy white furs and huggable size. They achieve honor from animal enthusiasts for their hunting skill and survival techniques in one of the harshest environments on Earth. Yet regardless of their mind-boggling recognition these giants are actually in risk of being actually wiped off Earth entirely.

Ice melting must be actually a core focus of conservation energies for the polar bear as this is actually impacting the polar bear the most. Polar bears depend on enormous blocks of moving ice to execute their daily activities linked to staying alive. Polar breeds prey on fat-laden seals from these stops of ice, they mate, as well as some even deliver their cubs on them. The problem by having the ice melting is that several polar bears have gone hungry since there is actually not enough ice for them to hunt their prey. This influences their capability to reproduce and bring their cubs to term that immediately impacts human population quantities. Additionally, when ice is actually as well a long way from land, polar bears are going to drown trying to swim a long way distances to discover them. All of these factors have made the polar bear more land bound.

That Is Helping, and How
Major contributors to the fight to conserve the Arctic Polar Bear include the Coca-Cola Company as well as the Globe Wildlife Fund. All together these businesses are actually raising cash to groundwork what is generating global climate change as well as functioning with governmental companies to manipulate greenhouse gas emissions. More major jobs consist of efforts to eliminate unfavorable mortal interactions consisting of poaching and extreme tourism as well as guarding vital habitat spots such as birthing dens.

Know-how is power. Emerge as extra informed concerning this necessary subject matter by dropping by Polar Bears at World Wild Life.

How would we round up all the polar bears ? Would that be all we need to do? How about we move to another of God’s planets, and mess that planet up as well !

  2. linlyons says:

Sasha has it right. the penguins will get mighty upset. you might note that nothing in the arctic that polar bears eat, spends any time far from water. if whatever it is cannot jump right in, it’s dinner. penguins won’t stand a chance. unfortunately.

  3. I’m sorry but the polar bears are goners… I wish it wasn’t so… But there are plenty of things we can do to reverse anthropogenic global warming: http://wisepagan.com/article003.html And there is PLENTY of Hard Science to show us that we are causing Global Warming: The Official Site of the IPCC: http://www.ipcc.ch/present/graphics.htm Also – know your enemy – it is the AAPG – American Association of Petroleum Geologists and Lockheed Martin. These two organizations are behind the “don’t believe in it” propaganda. Their motive is simple – keep America from switching to Green Energy. Do you ever wonder why we aren’t allowed to buy all the electric cars that have been invented over the years? It is because the oil companies have powerful lobbyists to make sure it doesn’t happen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Association_of_Petroleum_Geologists

  4. lesaber251 says:

I guess they could eat the penguins instead of seals.

  5. Suzy Q says:

Help ME SAVE THE POLAR BEARS!? What can I do to prevent the extinction of the Polar Bears ? I feel so sorry for them. Oh, was there another answer above yours #2? I know, totally ignorant to the facts, right?

  6. aap1970 says:

Did you know on a daily basis many species go extinct. Just something to think about.

  7. scrooge says:

no, I don’t agree with you at all, she is a hypocrite, and I don’t like hypocrites.

  8. tincoatr says:

I don’t see any conflict in being pro-hunting and pro-life. Pro-life refers to human life not animals. The biggest problem with many animal rights activists is that they want to project human traits and rights to animals. Her objection to the polar bear extinction program is that it is based on incorrect data. The polar bear population is currently increasing not decreasing. The idea of protecting the polar bear comes from the global warming advocates. She isn’t trying to make it possible to hunt them but, if they are considered endangered, land use in large parts of Alaska will be greatly restricted. She does hunt wolves and moose. They are considered nuisance animals in Alaska.

I am a Canadian and I don’t care or will discuss american internal affaires, but I can give you my opinion about the person Sarah Palin. Yes, for me it is weird to hear that somebody cares about life but do not car about the life of all forms of life. If you are capable of feeling compassion, you are compassionate towards everybody and everything, for it is a personality trait. For me, she is a politician above all and she cares about the votes of the christian fundamentalists only. That is what I think.

I think its more weird that McCain chose her as a running mate since his views obviously don’t line up with hers. Look at his stance on abortion. http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/john_mccain.htm As the McCain camp has said, this election isn’t about issues, its about personality. On the other hand, Barack Obama is very clear on his positions. Take a look at his blueprint for change. http://www.barackobama.com/issues/

  11. Liam J says:

I think she’s a hypocrite, if she’s pro life then why is she hunting and killing wild animals? But bear in mind i’m a vegetarian (not a vegan i love cheese way too much;) so i might be a bit biased

  12. wolves attack live stock, and the polar bear thing is to get it out of the way of drilling for oil in Alaska. their is nothing wrong with hunting i’m still not voting for her though even if she is sexy with a big gun in her hands

  13. Michael M says:

She’s “pro-life” when it comes to human beings. Anti-abortion and she’s also an advocate for adoption. Animal hunting does not have anything to do with being “pro-life”. Hunting humans has never been documented in the USA but is widely practiced in African countries. Her hunting habits only target animals that are not on endangered species lists.

  14. litz says:

What are the causes of polar bears getting closer to extinction? Why is it important to understant the issue? I am doing a ecology project in my biology class. We chose a conservation issue to focus on and we are to create a flyer on our issue and present it in front of the class. I am going to choose the topic about polar bears nearing extinction. Any input will help. Thanks!

  15. Penny says:

Cause: global warming and the shrinking of the ice caps Importance: increasing consequences of global warming, extinction of species, harmful effects of mankind on the planets, protecting our planet for future generations

  16. ron g says:

I know for a fact one reason for their current condition is due to them drowning. With the decline of the polar ice caps many polar bears swim out and they do not have a place to catch their breath. The melting of the ice caps is proportional to the decline in the polar bear habitat.

  17. kamcrash says:

I did a similar project in biology a couple years ago. There is a ton of information out there… What I found is that melting glaciers are creating greater distance between ice floes. Hence, polar bears have to swim greater distances from piece to piece. They get tired and drown. In 2005, I think, there were more than 70 found dead from drowning. Additionally, with warming temperatures, polar bears are moving into habitats they didn’t previously occupy, and leaving ones they did. People and polars don’t mix too well. Another issue is the entire food chain itself. All aspects of the environment are changing… too little food for this leads to too little food for that leads to hungry polar bears. Like I said, there’s a bunch of stuff out there – google! Good luck!

  18. Eric H says:

Fortunately, few people agree with you. Polar bears are endangered because their habitat is being destroyed. They are an essential part of a complete ecosystem – if they disappear, the entire ecosystem is at risk. Fortunately, some cells suitable for cloning are being preserved for a worst-case scenario, but we should still do everything we can to preserve the polar bears.

  19. annie *** says:

Well, we’re the reason they’re endangered. So maybe instead of thinking about ourselves, we could think about all the other things we’re killing ! Of course Polar Bears kill Seals. It’s the circle of life. If the Polar Bears were extinct, then the Seals would be over populated, then they would run out of food, and etc. That’s like saying, ‘Let’s go kill some Tigers! They’ve never done anything for us!’ Animals aren’t supposed to be our slaves. They aren’t all supposed to be our food or supply fur. But that’s what people seem to think. Don’t you think it’s wrong to kill an animal just because it’s not doing anything that you can benifit from? I personally think that’s selfish.

  20. bboyphysx says:

well what’s the point of saving humans? we’re doing no good to mother earth anyway; am i right? polar bears do NOT have an instrumental value…but they have an intrinsic value, like EVERY OTHER SPECIES on this planet. instrumental means they help/contribute to the environment. intrinsic means they have their own value for being there. and of course polar bears kill other animals, how else are they going to eat? and why are they going extinct? uh, not exactly “Today there are about 25,000 of the furry white critters, more than any time in the 20th century. Meanwhile, the World Wildlife Fund found that of the 20 polar bear populations worldwide, only two are decreasing. And guess what. Those are in areas where air temperatures have fallen, not risen. So, we?re losing bears where it?s getting cooler. Hm. Not much to blame global warming for there.”

  21. tom l says:

o.k the fact is polar rears are not going extinct, the global warming fanatics got them listed for politicle gain, try to force the U.S. gov. to by into all there b.s. there are more polar bears in Canada, Alaska, Russia, and Greenland than at any time sinse records have been kept. Now about the Darwinism,if the ice melts they have to adapt wich is already happening many Hy-bred Grizzly,Polar crosses are being found. Nature can take care of herself, and this planet has warmed and cooled forever.

  22. well thats pretty ignorant! without the polar bears to regulate the seal population the seals will eat all the fish and there will be no more left and that will wipe out all the coastal industries which will put a strain on the taxes whuich means you pay more

  23. zotdirector says:

It’s about balance ye who are so quick to make rash statements. If the polar bears don’t eat other animals like seals they’ll become overpopulated and eat all the fish which will die out, leading to the death of the seals because they have no food.

  24. Kat says:

great essay! i thought it was very interesting, i am all for the going green, it makes me sad how a lot of the rain forests are gone now :(

  25. Marcus says:

Very good Essay! I enjoyed reading it, but it can use polishing. To make your essay tighter, you can insert transitional words. The grammar and mechanics are used correctly and you are a very good writer. Transitional Words/Phrases: Retrospectively, It is of great interest to note, All in all, On the other hand, Research shows, and To Summarize.
